TOTAL BODY LIFT

Following a great amount of weight loss, many patients are faced with excess skin which cannot be “exercised away” and they must seek a surgical solution. Individuals carried excess weight in different areas of their body, some were pear shaped, apple shaped, or the weight was evenly distributed.  Total Body Lift treatment plans are customized for each individual. The treatment plan could consist of procedures for face, breasts, arms, abdomen, back, buttocks, knees and thighs.

It is important to choose a plastic surgeon experienced in performing the Total Body Lift procedure, Dr. Fabio has performed close to 500 Total Body Lift procedures. click here for Dr. Fabio’s surgical experience and history.

Breast Reduction/Lift
The extent of the lift and the scar will depend on the amount of tissue or gland to be excised. Generally the anchor incision is used. It involves areola (nipple) size reduction (although the areolas are not removed, so as to preserve sensitivity!) so a cut around the areola, a vertical line down to the breast fold/crease, and then a horizontal incision in the crease/fold. Dr. Fabio's aesthetic approach will minimize the extent of the scar, and yield pleasing results.

Lower Body Lift/ Belt Lipectomy
Lower Body Lift/Belt Lipectomy
The Lower Body Lift is the most extensive abdominal procedure. It consists of the tummy tuck/ abdominoplasty combined with the butt lift and the outer thigh lift. An incision is made all the way around the body and ends in a V at the top of the buttocks. It addresses the tummy, the outer thighs and the buttocks all at the same time. It will also help some skin redundancy of the lower back.

Vertical Incision Added to Tummy Tuck or Lower Body Lift

This procedure will help address excess "above the waist" skin redundancy and cinch the waist.

Total Back Resection

Back Resection
If you need a Back Resection Dr. Fabio will determine the length of the incision and will be as conservative as possible to achieve good results. This procedure will resection the skin across the back in the bra line. For those with skin folds on the back, especially the upper back, this will properly address their removal.

Inner Thigh Lift
This procedure uses a Brazilian Plastic Surgery technique that consists of removing the fat/tissue under the skin via lipo, and then the flaccid skin is removed with a scalpel. Since the vital lymph nodes are found in the inner thigh area, simple scalpel excision of the fat/tissue inside the inner thigh has been known to result in the accidental removal or disruption of the lymphatic system which can cause severe swelling, sometimes permanent. However, using the Brazilian technique, the tube (lipo canula) that is used to suction is rounded and so it does not harm the lymph nodes or the blood vessels.

The incision is a T incision in most cases that would end mid-thigh. How far it extends down the thigh, and where the scar is placed, depends on the individual and the amount of skin and tissue to be resected. Unless you have very limited redundant skin, a simple incision and tuck in the groin/panty-line, will not address the lift of the skin properly, leaving you dissatisfied with your results.
