Or mechanic peeling is done using an electric engine of rotation and a diamond tip/edge. Through the rotation and the attrition, the layers of the skin are removed. It can be superficial or deep. It is usually used in thicker skins, such as the perioral area (around the mouth), therefore if it is done around the eyes (periocular area) the skin could pull out (cause damage) because it is very thin in this area. It can be done in all parts of the face but the periocular area (around the eyes). As the perioral wrinkles (around the mouth) are deeper, Dr. Fabio does the peeling in this area and then the dermatologist complements the other parts of the face doing laser or microdermabrasion.
Ear Pinning (prominent ears)
This procedure can be performed on a child as young as 5 years old. This procedure may only require a local anesthetic procedure or it may be necessary to perform in the hospital with sedation or general anesthesia.
This procedure is called a Modified Castanhares Technique. It is not the endoscopic brow lift. It is accomplished with a very small incision just above the eyebrow hairline and the brow is lifted and given a bit of an arch. It will address only the eyebrows.
This procedure addresses the delicate eye area and will lift both the upper and lower eyelids and address the fat pockets under the eye.
This procedure will address the crow’s feet somewhat, cheeks, improve nasal-labial folds and neck. The incision generally traces the front outline of the ear, around the ear lobe, up about mid-ear and straight back into the hairline an inch or two. Depending on the severity of the lift needed, this incision could be less.
This procedure addresses wrinkles in the forehead with the excision of the frontal forehead muscles which effectively paralyzes (partially, sometimes totally) the muscles, essentially giving a permanent Botox effect. The incision is placed back in the hairline approximately two inches. It will also help to raise the eyebrows.
Dr. Fabio will perform the cosmetic procedure to the nose; however, this procedure can be combined with the expertise of an Ear, Nose and Throat Specialist to address problems in the nose outside the expertise of plastic surgery or in addition to the cosmetic surgery of the nose. You will generally need to have clearance from an ENT specialist if you plan on nasal reconstruction to verify there is no septum deviation or other defect or obstructive problems to be addressed, that could actually become worse (or finally evident) after plastic surgery.
